Marcus graduated from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, the world’s oldest hotel school, with concentrations in Finance and International Hospitality Management. He speaks five languages fluently and is of Swiss and Venezuelan descent. His background and extensive industry experience translate into superior service quality and FF&E packages that increase the quality of the guest experience, while enhancing operational efficiency.
Founder & Principal
Sebastian was born in Luxemburg and raised throughout Europe. He has studied in several countries and along the way has attained fluency in German, English, French and Spanish. He received a Bachelors of Science at the esteemed Swiss hospitality school, Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne. As director of Sales and Marketing, his goal is to globally position Lang & Schwander as a unique and highly service oriented contract manufacturing and interior design company.
Director of Business Development LATAM
Tomas was born in Budapest and was raised in Buenos Aires where he currently resides with his family. He received his degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad Católica Argentina and later worked as Director of Business Development for a consulting firm with offices in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro. Since 2009, he has dedicated himself to his new passion, business development within the hospitality industry. Tomas currently serves as the Director of Business Development for Lang & Schwander LATAM.
Senior Interior Designer
Melida earned a Master of Fine Arts from the New York School of Interior Design and a Bachelor of Interior Design from Florida International University. She is a licensed interior designer in Florida and also a member of ASID, the American Society of Interior Designers. Melida has worked as a designer with a focus on the hospitality industry since 1998 and has spearheaded renovation projects for the Delano Hotel, Pestana South Beach and Habitat Brickell. She brings a creative and practical approach to the design team at Lang & Schwander, ensuring that the client’s vision is expertly realized in every design project.
With close to 20 years experience in CAD/CAM drafting, design & manufacturing, Cristian brings precision and expertise to every project. A graduate of Camden Technical School in New Jersey, Cristian earned his degree in Drafting and Design. Cristian is also certified by the American Design Drafting Association and holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering. An Argentine native, Christian was raised in New Jersey and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He oversees the every step of the company’s design and manufacturing process, ensuring superior product quality and precise installation.
Claudia has a background in Hotel Management and Procurement. After completing her studies in Switzerland, she initially worked in the hospitality operations field before transitioning to FF&E purchasing. She is of Swiss/Ecuadorian decent, speaks English and Spanish fluently and has been based in Miami since 1991. At Lang & Schwander she oversees projects from concept to delivery. Her responsibilities include reviewing specifications, client interaction, production coordination and logistics.
Senior Interior Architect
Josefina obtained her Master of Art in Interior Design from the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design and received her Bachelor of Architecture from the Universidad Jose Maria Vargas in Caracas, Venezuela. Josefina has dedicated her career to interior design, working for such renowned firms as Gensler, IA Interior Architects and Little Diversified Architectural Consulting. Throughout her career, Josefina has used her architectural background to bring residential, retail and corporate projects to life, some of which include retail space for Nautica, Aeropostale and Hanes. At Lang & Schwander, Josefina manages interior architecture for the company’s hospitality projects, applying her experience in commercial interior design and architecture to various aspects of the design process.
Abel is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Architecture and brings a unique skill set to the Lang & Schwander team. He has extensive experience with millwork design, fabrication & engineering. He has over 20 years of experience as a project manager in the furniture and millwork field and focuses on these aspects of the projects within Lang & Schwander. Abel enjoys the challenges of working out intricate engineering details and drafting/sketching these details by hand to then be transferred to shop drawings. He is a Miami native and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Justo Vera-Ayestaran is an Architect who graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, with Post-Graduate studies in Corporate Financial Administration from Universidad Simon Bolivar. He is an Associate member of AIA, the American Institute of Architects, and obtained his Classical Feng Shui Certification from Southeast University in Nanjing, China, in 1999. For the last 20 years he had been located in South Florida working in Commercial & Residential Interiors for clients in USA, Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil, Venezuela, Austria and India. His work includes an ample portfolio of Restaurants, Spas & Hotel projects. He brings his extensive industry experience to the design team at Lang & Schwander as Design Director.
Carlos Lopez Alcala
Carlos is of Spanish decent, born and raised in Venezuela. He studied business administration in the Universidad Metropolitana Caracas, specializing in construction finance. After his studies in Venezuela, he managed several construction and logistics projects for national firms for more than 5 years. His skill set allows him to effectively manage installations for Lang & Schwander, keeping installations on budget and within the expected time frames.
